Sligo CTC v's Globe House

Sligo CTC played Globe House at the showgrounds on Tuesday. It finished with a score of 3 - 2 to Globe House.  Aaron Mills and Ethan Saunders scored the goals for Sligo CTC.  Thanks to Globe house for a very enjoyable competitive game!

Last Wednesday Sligo CTC played Globe House in a friendly game at Cleveragh.  We lost the game 2 - 0, Globe House scored both their goals in the first half.  Well done to all the team and both sides hope to make this a regular fixture over the coming months! 

SVP Youth for Justice

Last Wednesday Gavin and Melly brought a group of 5 trainees to the Sligo Park Hotel to celebrate the SVP Youth for Justice.  This is an opportunity for students to gather together to celebrate and present their social justice projects. It is a wonderful chance for like-minded students from around the region to share their views, hopes and concerns for their communities.  As part of this project Sligo CTC trainees did a food appeal for SVP and shoeboxes for Globe House at Christmas.  Thanks to Said, Tristan, Luke, Kathleen and Shannon for representing the centre and for Sharon Tuohy for encouraging trainees to take part in these worthwhile projects in the community.

Sligo CTC played Globe House at the Astro pitch Cleveragh last Thursday. It finished with a score of 4-1 to Globe House.  Thomas Myers scored the only goal for Sligo CTC.  Well done to Globe House for a great game.

Globe House Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Sharon Tuohy from SVP visited the centre on Tuesday to give a talk about Globe House.
Globe House is an asylum centre located on Chapel Hill in Sligo town. There are approximately 250 people and 36 being children from all around the world living in Globe House. The trainees have decided to do a shoebox appeal in conjunction with the IT students who have already done a fundraiser. Each trainee will get a box and €10 to buy gifts for the children for Christmas morning. Thanks to all the trainees who are going to participate for this worthwhile cause.
