Road Safety Awareness Event

The Youth Action Project Sligo/Leitrim Road Safety Event is taking place again this year, which our trainees will be attending.

The event will show how important it is to wear a seat belt is by using their Roll-over simulator, along with what it’s like to drive on the road using their state-of-the-art car and motorbike simulators.

This event is delivered in conjunction with North Connaught Youth Services, An Garda Síochána, Sligo County Council and the Road Safety Authority.

The RSA Interactive Shuttle and Roll-Over Simulator will be in Sligo on the 14th, 15th and 16th of October in the Stephen Street Car Park, Sligo from 9.30am to 4pm.

If you’re a trainee at Sligo CTC, be sure to talk to your keyworker for more information and to visit the event on Wednesday the 16th October between 2pm and 2.45pm.

Road Safety Week 2017

Road Safety Event

A group of trainees from the centre attended a road safety event in Sligo today for Irish Road Safety Week.  This involved the RSA Roll Over Simulator and Shuttle, information stand, virtual driving and the importance of seat belt wearing.  This was a very informative and worth while event.

  

Road Safety Authority Visit

Louise from the Road Safety Authority visited the centre last Tuesday to talk to trainees about road safety awareness. She showed trainees videos that were very informative on the following:

• Road traffic accidents
• Wearing your seat-belt while driving
• Driver distraction - using your mobile phone while driving
• Drug and drink driving
